About The CEO
Mr. Kingsley Igwe, (MILT), is an accomplished transportation and logistics professional and the current Registrar/CEO of the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (CRFFN).
With over 14 years of experience, Kingsley is a transformative leader known for advancing Nigeria’s logistics sector through innovation, regulatory excellence, and strategic collaboration with key stakeholders. Kingsley’s commitment to capacity building and innovation is demonstrated through his tenure as a FIATA-certified trainer and his academic contributions to the Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN) when he led a groundbreaking research project and proposed competitive strategies and policies for regional trade enhancement within the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
In his current role, Kingsley leads CRFFN in advancing Nigeria’s trade facilitation and logistics standards. His responsibilities include policy development, stakeholder engagement, and oversight functions of professional ethics and accreditation. He serves as a bridge between government agencies, industry associations, and international trade bodies, ensuring alignment with national and global trade objectives.
Furthermore;
He holds a Master’s degree in Transportation and Logistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and an active contributor to global logistics discussions.
Kingsley’s accolades include his instrumental role in establishing and managing logistics departments for multinational companies, designing efficient supply chain systems, and contributing policy recommendations to strengthen trade competitiveness. He was an active member of the Nigeria Time Release Study Technical Working Committee under the Nigeria Customs Service.
Recognized for his strategic vision, Kingsley is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and workshops, where he shares insights into logistics optimization and regulatory compliance. Kingsley combines his technical expertise with a passion for advancing Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain industry.
WHAT IS CRFFN
The ongoing reforms by the Federal Government of Nigeria aimed at increasing efficiencies, improving transparencies and adding value to the economy of the nation has been extended to the freight forwarding sub sector. Thus giving birth to the Council for Freight Forwarding in Nigeria.(CRFFN).
The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria Act No. 16 2007 was enacted into law on the 30th of April,2007. The Council is charged with, amongst other responsibilities, regulating and controlling the practice of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria, and promoting the highest standards of competence, practice and conduct among members of the profession.
The vision of the Council is to become Nigeria's leading transport player committed to the development of a modern globally competitive freight forwarding system in Nigeria. The council is dedicated to achieving sustainable economic development in Nigeria through responsible transport initiatives in freight forwarding development and management.
CRFFN MISSION
To regulate the industry by setting standard, building capacity and ensuring Freight Forwarding industry contributes its quota to the growth of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

To build professional capacity in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management in order to enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness.
CRFFN GOALS AND AIMS
Regulating and controlling the practice of freight forwarding.
Maintaining registers and publishing lists of authorized freight forwarders in accordance to the Act.
Embark on continuous conduct of seminars and workshops
Create membership development toolkit (Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Regulating and controlling all the associations of freight forwarding agents.
Promoting excellence in freight forwarding through competence and best practices.
Maintain cargo movement statistics, which shall be made available to registered members and the public.
Ensuring uniform standards of education, training and professional conduct of practitioners.
Regulating and controlling individuals engaged in freight forwarding activities effectively.
Setting and evolving standards for freight forwarder registration aligned with global industry practices.
Encouraging participation of members in international exchange programmes.
Affiliate with universities, colleges, and FIATA to enhance industry knowledge.
Encouraging freight forwarders to excel and understand cargo movement principles for all stakeholders.
Performing any other functions conferred on the Council by the Act.
